The Emperor Qin’s Mausoleum Site Museum: The Emperor Qin’s Mausoleum Site Museum is the largest on-site museum in China. On February 11th, 2009, Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relic Bureau decided to establish the Emperor Qin’s Mausoleum Site Museum, with the Emperor Qin’s Terra-cotta Army Museum as its main component and backing of the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Park. The world famous Terra-cotta Army Museum was founded in 1979.There are three pits on display, about 1,500m east of the tomb. They stand for the garrison force to protect the emperor’s underground palace for his afterlife. There are about 8,000 figures in the three pits if fully excavated. It’s now known as the 8th wonder of the world and attracts millions of visitors each year. The First Emperor’s tomb is the biggest one in China. It has the richest collection of the burial objects inside in Chinese history. In 1987, the First Emperor’s mausoleum and his Terra-cotta army were put on the list of the World Cultural Heritage. Description: Our Transitional school operates as a partnership between RRS and The Toronto District School Board (TDSB), and is an alternative learning school with Caring and Safe Schools. We accept enrolment for youth between the ages of 16-20yrs that are facing on-going conflict with the law or have been recently incarcerated and are facing challenges re-entering the educational system. The purpose of the Transitional School is to address the achievement gap demonstrated by underserved youth from marginalized communities, and youth reintegrating post incarceration. The program seeks to build the capacity of these youth, in developing the following skills: academic, social, and cognitive All programming is rooted in RRS’s four pillars: identity formation, accountability, opportunity provision and resiliency. The school support team includes a TDSB teacher, RRS worker, RRS facilitators, and peer mentors. In the past, our Interns have assisted with curriculum development, direct facilitation of workshops, sessions and academic components, providing mentorship and one on one academic supports to students
